About Jamestown Twp, MI.

 Jamestown was formed in 1849 when early settlers voted to separate from nearby Georgetown. The town got its name from the fact that four of the twelve men who voted for the split were named James. The community is located along the beautiful agricultural land near the western shore of Lake Michigan.
