 Located in Kent County Michigan, Grandville is a city that is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area. At the 2010 census, the population of the city was 15,378 Incorporated as a city in 1933, it is among the oldest suburbs of Grand Rapids. In Michigan’s years of logging, the city was considered geographically significant because it was located at the river bend of the Grand River. The population there made sure that the logs did not disturb the flow of the river towards Grand Haven in the northwest direction.
 The city has an area of 19.87 km2 with 18.8km2 being land and 1.04km2 being water. The 2010 census indicates that there were 15,378 people, 4,160 families and 5,982 households. The number of housing units was 6,276 with an average density of 333.3km2. The percentage ratio of men to women in the city was 48.3% to 51.7% with the median age being 36.3 years.
 The city has proximity to major highways such as the M-11, I-196, and M-121. These makes transportation in and out of the city very efficient. Besides, the city is home to the Rivertown Crossings, a regional shopping mall that is the largest in the Grand Rapids area. The mall has over 130 stores, restaurants, and a food court. The mall served as a gateway for more businesses to developing the area as currently stores and restaurants have opened in the areas surrounding the mall.
