About Byron Twp, MI.

Byron was founded in 1824 and received its first postmaster in 1837.  After a spur of the Ann Arbor Railroad came through, the area incorporated into a village in 1873. Byron is in the southeast corner of Shiawassee County.  Holden White opened the first store there in 1842, he also was the postmaster at the time. The town was incorporated as a village in 1873.
