White Cloud, Michigan
White Cloud’s history is tied to the Ottawa Indians who were living in the area before the lumber boom. White Cloud is in Newaygo County. The city was first named Morgantown after one of the founding fathers. The name was changed to White Cloud on March 26, 1877 at the request of the postal officials, since there was another town in Michigan named Morgantown.
White Cloud has lots of excellent parks and the Flowing Well Park on the west side of the city has a natural mineral spring. Just north of the city and running through the White Cloud City Campground is the White River, which is one of the best trout streams around.
