About Lowell City, MI.

 Lowell is a city located in the north part of Lowell Township, Kent County with a population of 3,783 as of the 2010 census. The city was founded in 1831 by Daniel Marsac, and it served as a trading post on the Grand River’s south bank. To the north, the town is bordered by Vergennes Township and Lowell Township to the south, east and west.
 
 The city has an area of 8.03 km2 with 7.46 km2 being land and 0.57 km2 being water. The 2010 census shows that there were 962 families and 1,457 households in the county. The population density of the city was 507.1/km2 with 1,581 housing units at an average density of 212.0/km2. The city’s median age was estimated to be 37.1 years with the gender makeup of the city being 53.7% female and 46.3% male.
 
 The economy of Lowell city consists of local businesses, manufacturing industries and restaurants altogether. The city has art galleries and antique stores that are a major local tourist attraction in the downtown part of the city. There are also recreational parks such as Creekside Park, Richards Park, Stoney Lakeside Park, Lowell Dog Park and Rec Park. The town also has local attractions such as the Riverwalk Festival, Fallasburg Covered Bridge, and Lowell Area Historical Museum.
