HISTORY

In 1858 Lakeview was first settled and in 1867 Albert S. French a settler from New York platted the town.  He named it Lakeview because of its location on the west side of Tamarack Lake.  On October 7, 1867 a post office was established and Hiram S. Barton was the first postmaster.

 

 

POPULATION

Lakeview has a population of 1,093 people.  The median home cost in Lakeview is $93,580.   The racial makeup of the village is 97.5% White, 0.09% African American, 0.45% Native American,0.27% Asian, and 0.72% from other races and 0.90% from two or more races Hispanic or Latino.  The median age is 36 years old and the median income for a household in the village was $33,611.
