HISTORY
In 1858 Lakeview was first settled and in 1867 Albert S. French a settler from New York platted the town. He named it Lakeview because of its location on the west side of Tamarack Lake. On October 7, 1867 a post office was established and Hiram S. Barton was the first postmaster.
