Dorr, Michigan
HISTORY
The township was named after Thomas Wilson Dorr, he was an attorney from Rhode Island, he was elected to governor in 1842 by reformers under their People’s Constitution. This caused much turmoil and Dorr fled in exile. In 1843 he surrendered and was found guilty of treason against the state.
