 Located in Kent County, Michigan, Alpine Township is a civil township of the North West of the Grand Rapids, East of Ottawa County, North of the city of Walker and west of the Plainfield Charter Township. The census conducted in the year 2000 estimated the population of the township at 13,976. Of this number, there were 5,550 households and 3,468 families. The township had a population density of 389.9 per square mile 162.6 per square mile was the average density of 5,830 housing units. Median incomes for household and a family were $42,484 and $50,068 respectively.
 
 Alpine Township is a rural community that promises a great future in industrial, residential and commercial development with the already existing structures. The township has a historical museum that showcases its history from the time it was a Charter Township in 1979 to the time it de-chartered and returned to a status of general law. In the field of agriculture, the township is well known for an area known as ‘The Ridge’ a farmland that produces 40% of Michigan’s apples due to the topography that is unique.
